The context

A 3-day science conference bringing together 180 guests across 26 teams meeting for the first time.

The challenge

Build trust quickly across a complex mix of national and international stakeholders so they could collaborate effectively.

The work

DisCom became an extension of the internal team, and created a psychologically safe space for dialogue while sustaining energy across multiple sessions and keeping the common thread running through a highly technical programme, enabling a one‑of‑a‑kind moment for connection. Through this environment, dispersed and diverse teams built the trust needed to collaborate on forecasting critical climate tipping points.

When I realised there was no official photo scheduled, some quick thinking meant we captured THE shot - 180 people who'd become a collaborative community in just three days.
