Forecasting Tipping Points Science Conference Event Hosting

Advanced Research Innovation Agency (ARIA) on behalf of Climate Connections

The Armoury, Leeds Guided Facilitation Service (3 days)

Role: Event Host & Moderator for 3 days

A 3-day science conference bringing together 180 guests across 26 teams meeting for the first time.

The challenge:

Build trust quickly across a complex mix of national and international stakeholders so they could collaborate effectively.

As conference host, I became an extension of the internal team, creating a psychologically safe space for dialogue whilst maintaining energy across multiple sessions. Through facilitation that maintained the common thread across a highly technical programme, I supported the team to create a one-of-a-kind moment for connection. Dispersed, diverse teams built the trust needed to work together on forecasting critical climate tipping points.

When I realised there was no official photo scheduled, some quick thinking meant we captured THE shot - 180 people who'd become a collaborative community in just three days.

“Thank you for making the Forecasting Tipping Points workshop a huge success. Your energy and enthusiasm has brought the last 3 days to life and made for a super engaging event.”
